The British National Carnation Society would like to congratulate the John Lewis store in Peterborough on its 25th anniversary celebrations. To mark this important event all the staff at the store wore a yellow carnation. Carnations are the ideal buttonhole being robust, long lasting and beautiful flowers. They are the bloom of choice for wearing on special occasions and it is always a pleasure to see our chosen flowers being worn on such a scale. Pictured here is a member of staff from the Peterborough store.

Why do I report this from Peterborough you may well ask? Many members will probably know that this is where the BNCS Council meetings are held four times a year. Having driven from Hastings we usually find time to visit the John Lewis store before or after the meeting, particularly their fabric department, which is excellent!
We wish John Lewis Peterborough every success in the next 25 years!
