I have recently discovered a new website for gardeners, which provides many useful links. It is fairly comprehensive and can be likened to Yellow Pages. Perhaps it should have been called Green Pages.

Links to the BNCS website are prominent. I have suggested that there is a separate page for plant societies with a direct link to our events page. I believe this is coming on stream early this year. The site is well worth a visit and is a useful reference source. There is a direct link from our “interesting related sites” page.

The following article explains their philosophy:-

“The gardening information website, www.evergreen4ever.com, was born out of the frustration encountered when searching for garden related information on the internet. As an example, a recent search on Google for information on CARNATION, turned up only 11 results out of the top 30, that related at all to dianthus. Other flowers do not fair so well! This lack of focus drove the founders of evergreen4ever to create an alternative information reference service. Relying heavily on feedback from the users of the website, new sites are added only after they have been validated as being relevant to a garden information service.

The format of evergreen4ever allows users to find information from either alphabetic or category listings, and special sections are dedicated to societies and to gardeners who wish to showcase their garden webpages.

The main force behind the evergreen4ever concept is the team of Vicky Beck – a knowledgeable amateur gardener – and her other half, Jim, who deals with website matters.”
