Christmas Greetings from the BNCS 2005

The Council of The British National Carnation Society would like to wish all its members and visitors to our website from all around the world a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year. We hope that in 2006 you will succeed in whatever area of interest you have relating to Dianthus whether as a breeder of new varieties (Amateur or Professional), a commercial grower, a Florist, a scientist working with the genus, an exhibitor, an enthusiastic amateur or a gardener with just a few pinks (no English garden is complete without pinks!).

At this special time I would particularly like to thank all those who have helped and contributed to this website. Denis at 38one for setting up the site. Our Australian friends Paul Rumkorf and Philip Wilson for contributing over the greatest distance! Eileen Galbally, Betty and Jim Linell, Doug Cottam, Tony Derrick, Ivor Mace and Roy Holden have made significant contributions. Thanks also to Roger Nutt, Mick and Jane Walters, John Eaton, Ron Philips, John W, Paul Wheatcroft, Hylton Oberst and Denis Radencovic who have also registered on the Discussion Forum. And a special thanks to Alan Titchmarch for his contribution to The Buttonhole. Sorry if I have left anyone out!

As you sit around the festive board we hope that carnations are gracing the table. If not here is a picture for you to enjoy with us all!

If you are not yet a member what better time to join!

And here is a message from our secretary Betty Linnell:-

Christmas Greetings and best wishes for a happy and peaceful New Year.
I do hope 2006 will be a good growing season and look forward to seeing you at our Shows or the Pinks Open Day at Wisley. If you don’t exhibit come along and make yourself known. If you need any advice experienced growers will be on hand to help.
Full details of our plans will appear early in the New Year.
