B.N.C.S. Judges Notes for Prospective Candidates

1.Candidates must be current B.N.C.S. members.

2.In order to be retained on the B.N.C.S. judge’s panel, judges must remain in membership.

3.Candidates will be examined in four elements.
(A) A written paper.
(B) Stewarding at two B.N.C.S. London, Area or Divisional Shows.
(C) A practical test, judging at a B.N.C.S. Show.
(D) A viva voce,

Many of the answers to the questions set in the written paper will be found in the current B.N.C.S. publication “Show Regulations, Rules for Judging, Standards and Classifications”.

There are three separate classifications for judges. Pinks, Borders and P.F.’s and judges may qualify in any or all three according to their experience. Ideally, candidates should have had experience in growing and showing. This is of great help when dealing with colour classification which is always one of the sections in the written paper.

In putting their names forward, candidates must be aware of the time-scale. This will depend upon their making themselves available at Area Shows and the number of candidates at any one time who wish to be examined.
